Dear Parents,

Our 2nd grade system of classroom behavior is simple. We will explain it to you so when you come in to our classroom you will understand our busy bee color chart.

On our classroom chart, each student has a busy bee representing positive behavior. This chart will make students aware of their behavior and help them self monitor. The colors and what they represent are as follows:

• Green   =   Super busy bee!

• Yellow  =   Warning, improper behavior

• Red      =   infraction, check mark given. Discuss         consequence with teacher and record in child's notebook.

Students will have three opportunities to improve behavior. Once 3 check marks are on the monitoring chart, the following procedures will follow:

1. Student will lose all privileges: treasure box prizes, classroom job, field trips, and classroom reward parties.

2. Student will write a letter to their parents.

3. Letter and call from teacher to parents.

4. Visit to principal's office

5. Parent, teacher and student conference.

Rewards

• Verbal praise

• 5 stars during week treasure box prize
     a) Incentive certificates (free 15 minute pass, sit
         at teachers desk, talk with teacher, free time pass
         for learning center).
     b) Gift selected by teacher and parent donations.
     c)  Student certificate praising behavior.

We keep a record chart showing each student's daily progress. At weeks end students showing only star will be rewarded. If entire class has only stars and no checkmarks for 10 consecutive days, they will celebrate with a class cookie/popcorn party.
